商务英语讲宄几乎在任何情况下都是礼貌第一，使用名词化手法能够很委 婉地处理各种棘手的问题。即便是投诉索赔，也是先礼后兵，不到万不得已不 会采取法律行动。
例1中国有句古话“坏事传千里”，现实中也的确如此。据调查，公司服务不好，客户都会传话。他们负面宣传，发泄自己的不满，损害公司的声誉。所以，必须搞好售后服务，及时处理客户投诉。
售后服务直接关系到是否能够留住老客户发展新客户的问题，也最终决定公司的发展前景。原文中的“服务不好”可有两种理解，分别为“服务不好、 不到位”或“没有提供很好的服务”。由于前一个“服务”可以理解为动词，后 一个“服务”可以理解为名词，英译实践中当然是都可以选用的。分别译成your company did not serve well 和 spread bad words/make unfavorable comments 并无不 可，但考虑到商务英语信函的特殊风格要求，优先使用名词化手法会使译文在 表达方面显得短小精焊。笔者试译：

According to a survey, the negative publicity can be an indication of their dissatisfaction and resentment，hurting the company’s reputation. Therefore, good after-sale service should be provided and claims should be promptly settled.
例2 想必贵公司应该明白，合同条款一经签字就应严格遵守，不遵守合同 条款意味着违反合同。使用过的产品即便送回，也不能接受退货，而且我们别 无选择，只能坚决要求你方按合同规定的金额付款。
重合同守信用既是基本的商业道德，也是顺利完成交易的首要条件。翻译公司译员在商务实践中，难免出现客户因对产品质量不满意而拒绝付款的情况，这就需要双 方互相沟通，最好是友好协商解决。不到万不得已就不必诉诸法律对簿公堂， 走法律的程序毕竟往往是费时费力甚至即便打臝官司也很不合算。原文涉及 合同规定与法律后果的问题，汉英翻译时就非常有必要最高程度地体现法律 术语的行文风格。原文中的“不遵守合同”和“付款”尽量都不要使用动词 形式，更不要将对方用作句子的主语译成you should strictly observe the contract since you have signed it 和 you must pay the amount as stipulated.这等 于是说“你既然在合同上签了字就必须遵守合同”和“你必须按合同规定的 金额付款”。显然，翻译这样的句子需要再现合同法的法律特征。前者得理不 饶人的训人方式和后者发号施令的生硬语气都将使对方感到非常反感并且难 以接受。笔者试译：
You must be aware that the terms and conditions of a contract once signed should be strictly observed, and failure to abide by them will mean violation of contract. Consequently, we are not prepared to accept the used products if returned and will have no alternative but to insist on your payment of the contracted amount.

（1）因治疗疾病需要，个人凭医疗机构出具的医疗诊断书、本人身份证明，可以携带单张处方最大用量以内的麻醉药品和第一类精神药品；携带麻醉药品和第一类精神药品出入境的，由海关根据自用、合理的原则放行。参照卫生部《麻醉药品、精神药品处方管理规定》有关规定，一般麻醉药品、第一类精神药品注射剂处方为一次用量，其他制剂型处方不得超过3日用量，控缓释剂不超过7日用量；第二类精神药品比照对第一类精神药品的管理规定执行；第二类精神药品处方一般不得超过7日用量，对于某些特殊情况，处方用量可适当延长，但医师应注明理由。
（2）医务人员为了医疗需要携带少量麻醉药品和精神药品进出境的，应当持有省级以上人民政府药品监督管理部门发放的携带麻醉药品和精神药品证明。海关凭携带麻醉药品和精神药品证明放行。 -
